A Makeup Artist has a thorough knowledge of how to use cosmetic products to adapt a client’s appearance according to the occasion or environment.
Makeup Artists use brushes, foam pads, glue, cosmetic colour palettes and powders to create specific looks. They may work in beauty salons, where they are in demand for weddings or special events; in theatre, where they transform the appearance of actors into their characters; in media, where they apply makeup to the subjects of magazine or newspaper photographs; or in fashion, where they work behind the scenes to enhance models’ features for catwalk shows.
Makeup Artists may also work with prosthetics, wigs or masks to alter their clients’ appearances.
